ou opened Instagram to answer one DM. Forty minutes later you're 200 Reels deep and can't remember what the message was. Same story with TikTok. "Just one more" never means one more.

InstaBlock is the off switch for the scroll hole – without giving up the parts of Instagram you actually need.

WHAT IT DOES
• Reels and TikTok videos stop loading. They just don't play.
• Instagram DMs, stories, photos, comments and your feed keep working normally.
• Blocking is always on. There's no toggle to cheat with at 1am.
• It only touches the Instagram and TikTok apps. Nothing else on your phone goes through it.

WHEN YOU WANT TO SCROLL
Sometimes you do want to watch something. Tap 1, 5, 15 or 30 minutes and videos come back. When the timer runs out, they stop again on their own – you don't have to do anything, and you don't have to open the app. No willpower required, which is the whole point.

HOW IT WORKS (no dark magic)
InstaBlock sets up a local, on-device network filter. Android calls it a VPN, but nothing leaves your phone: there is no server, and the filter applies only to Instagram and TikTok. It slows their video servers to a crawl – enough for photos and messages, nowhere near enough for video. That's it. No account, no sign-up, no analytics, no data collection.

WHY NOT DIGITAL WELLBEING OR AN APP TIMER?
App timers block the whole app, so you either lose your messages or tap "ignore" and keep scrolling. InstaBlock removes only the addictive part and leaves the useful part alone. You can still be reachable without being reachable by the algorithm.

PLAYS NICE WITH YOUR VPN
Android allows one VPN at a time. If you turn on another VPN, InstaBlock steps aside and tells you videos aren't blocked. When that VPN disconnects, InstaBlock comes back – automatically where it can, otherwise with a one-tap notification.

WHAT TO EXPECT
• Videos stall instead of playing. Instagram won't crash; it just fails to load Reels. TikTok's feed stops loading.
• Photos might load a touch slower than usual. Messages are unaffected.
• A key icon shows in your status bar while blocking is on. That's the filter running locally.
• TikTok caches clips ahead of time, so a couple of already-downloaded videos may play right after a break before the block catches up.
• Android asks for VPN permission the first time, and again after another VPN app has been used.

InstaBlock doesn't judge you, doesn't nag you, and doesn't send you a weekly report about your screen time. It just makes the scroll hole stop working.
