About this app

A pet tag should be able to say more than twelve characters.

henlo! is a smart pet ID tag with a QR code on the front and an NFC chip inside. Whoever finds your pet scans the QR code or taps the tag with their phone, and reaches you through as many contacts as you care to list, alongside the medical details that matter and a note on how she is with strangers.

None of it is stamped into metal. Change a number, add a vet, update a medication, and the tag on her collar stays where it is.

The page they see

Her photo, so they know they have the right animal. Her name, breed and age.

Your emergency contacts, as many as you need. You, your partner, a neighbour, your vet, each listed by name and relationship with a call button and a text button.

Medical information in a section of its own, where it won't be missed.

And a note in your own words: that she's friendly but nervous around men, that he'll bolt the moment you let go of the collar, that she's deaf and won't come when called.

The page never shows your address.

There's nothing for the finder to install and no account to create. This pet tag opens a web page, on any phone.

Lost Mode

If your pet goes missing, turn on Lost Mode.

The page changes. It reads as urgent, says plainly that she's missing, and moves your contacts to the top. It also asks whether her collar has a tracker on it, with buttons that open Find My or Google Find My Device. Most people wouldn't think to check.

Every scan of the tag marks a location on your map, with a timestamped history beneath it. You're notified each time, so you know your lost pet has been seen even when nobody calls.

Location is recorded only while Lost Mode is on. The rest of the time the tag keeps no history at all.

Built to outlast what's written on it

Engraved lettering on a metal dog tag wears smooth against a collar ring. If the QR code on a henlo! tag is ever scratched or worn, the NFC chip inside still works. A phone held against the tag opens the same page.

No battery, so nothing to charge and nothing to replace. Five collar sizes, from a kitten's to a Great Dane's.

In the app

- All of your pets in one place
- Every field editable, whenever you need it
- A preview of exactly what a finder sees
- A notification the moment your pet tag is scanned
- Medical alerts kept separate from everyday notes
- Species, breed, gender, birthday, colour and notes
- One tap to mark her found

The app is free, and hosting your pet's page is free for as long as you own the tag. There's no subscription.

It takes about a minute to set up. After that it simply sits there, working, for years.
A QR and NFC pet tag. Whoever finds your pet can contact you with a single tap.
