Track and report Heritage units (locomotives) and other special interest units for Norfolk Southern, Union Pacific, CSX, BNSF, CN, CP and other railroads.

Explanation of why various permissions are needed:

• The "Location" permission is required so that the app can determine your location to find locomotives near you, assist during recording a new report and center the map on your position and allow for submission of new reports. The app first attempts to determine your location via the network, if that fails the app then tries to determine your location via GPS.

• The "Wi-Fi connection information" permission is needed so that the app can determine whether or not Wi-Fi is enabled and whether the app is currently using that connection.

• The "Device ID & call information" permission is needed by the app (but only if your device is running Android 2.x or higher). Encoded to store only a partial ID during reporting; it is used to validate a user's account has not be compromised

Ratings and reviews

This app is a game changer. I love it! I do have a few suggestions for it though 1: a way I could report rare or odd freight/passenger cars. Freight cars like depressed flatcars, fallen flag paint schemes, etc. 2: an option to where I could click on someone's profile and see all of their photos, reports, and social media profiles. That should be all for now. This is a great app and I can't wait to see what it can turn into in the future!! Thank you.

It works as advertised. There's a few bugs, but the staff works hard to make sure the app runs smoothly. I've had trouble with seeing a locomotive in person but not being at the place/time I made the report (I made the report later). The system often deletes those, even if they're legit. A feature that would be nice is if you can edit your report (notes, symbol, etc. but NOT time/place/loco). Edit: I revisited my review because I've noticed a better experience! :)

This is a wonderful app. a very powerful feature that lets you track Heritage and special locomotives nationwide. I've been a user for 8 years. But after I purchase the premium subscription, something is seriously wrong with this app. I can't scroll down to view more than 4 of the latest sightings on a locomotive, the maps refuses to load, and I can't see any more than two photos and the app refuses my atttempts to scroll down. I didn't have these issues before I purchased premium. Please help.
