As someone that has recently switched from Samsung to OnePlus (OP 12), I don't like it as much as samsungs music player app, but I Def don't hate it or anything. It supports live alerts on my oneplus 12 running android 15 (the other "music" app by these same devs does not). Works fine for me for playing back locally stored music. Supports all the formats I need (mainly MP3 and FLAC). The UI is pretty good. Glad I discovered this. Also personally haven't seen any ads in the app.

theres a LOT of ads now compared to the older version not having ads at all; it lags through songs, eg. I would play them normally in order (1,2,3,4) but sometimes it'd skip every other song (1,3), which can be fixed by restarting the app but its still annoying to wait for it to load. it also doesn't play the first and last half a second of the song, which skips the first beat and can be annoying. also sometimes i'd click on a song and it would lag, show me an ad and take me to a site :(

Was great - simple, functional, been using it for years. Opened it today to get a very long ad. Had to check if opened the right app. Sure maybe this is a funding thing but still a bit of a shock, maybe give an option to pay and go ad free? Have to rethink what I'll be using now. 2026 - ads had calmed down, now open to a full page of them which is fiddly to close. I understand who they're needed but a full screen on opening? Again, for this excellent app I would pay for ad free.
