Wordspot is a live word game you play as a group — in a meeting, on the couch or out with friends. Everyone agrees on a list of words and phrases to listen for — "synergy", "let's take this offline", "quick win" — and each player gets their own grid. When someone hears a word, they report it; once the group confirms it, the square is checked for everyone. When the game ends, the player who spotted the most words before anyone else wins.
WHERE IT SHINES
• In meetings, keeping score of the buzzwords nobody can stop saying.
• On the couch, with the catchphrases your favourite show repeats every episode.
• In class or at a conference, with the speaker's pet expressions.
• With friends, at a party, tracking the words each of you repeats without noticing.
WHAT KEEPS IT FAIR
• Confirmed by the group: a word counts when a majority of players report it within a minute. With fewer than four players, one report is enough.
• Spotting rewards attention: the first player to report a confirmed word earns a spot. The winner is whoever has the most spots — not whoever taps at random.
• Every player gets a different grid, drawn at random from the group's list, so nobody can copy a neighbour.
• Repeats are counted without affecting the result: a ×N badge shows how many times a word came back. You will know who said "synergy" seven times.
EVERYONE SEES EVERYTHING, LIVE
Wordspot is a multiplayer word game in real time: each player's progress shows as it happens, from the first word to the final ranking. The leaderboard updates on every confirmation, and the win lands on every phone at the same moment.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Create a group and share its six-character invite code.
2. Create a game and add the words, alone or with your editors.
3. Pick the grid size once the words are in: 3×3, 4×4 or 5×5. On odd-sized grids, the centre square is checked from the start.
4. Gather the players in the waiting room, launch the game… and listen.
FEATURES
• Private groups, joined with the invite code only.
• Three roles: the owner runs the group and launches games, editors add words, players play. For each game you decide who can add words: only you, the editors or the whole group.
• Creating a group takes a Google account; joining and playing only takes a nickname.
• 3×3, 4×4 and 5×5 grids: the size is chosen at the end of the word editor, once you know how many words there are.
• Live leaderboard, finished games kept in the group, rematch in one tap.
• The host can end the game if a word is never said.
• Interface in 11 languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Hindi, Indonesian and Polish.
• On tablets, the grid and the leaderboard sit side by side.
A QUIET DESIGN, MADE FOR AGES 14 AND UP
No mascot, no confetti: an editorial typeface, a cream and orange palette, and nothing to distract you from what you are listening to.
No ads, no in-app purchases, no data sold. The Google account only serves to own a group; guests give nothing but a nickname.
Next meeting, next episode, next lecture: open Wordspot, hand out the grids and listen. A party word game with friends, live, where the sharpest ear wins.
