The Gregorian year depends on the rotation of the sun in a full cycle and is 365 days, while the Hijri year, which depends on the lunar calendar and the moon’s rotation around the Earth, is 354-355 days. The Gregorian calendar is used all over the world, and the Gulf countries use the Hijri calendar in addition to Islamic countries using it side by side. Along with the Gregorian calendar, and despite the difference in the length of the Hijri and Gregorian years, conversion between the Hijri and Gregorian dates is possible, by knowing the relationship between the lengths of the two years.
