Hilli Ball is a quiet little game about one small thing done well:
rolling a ball to the top of a hill and stopping it there.
Press and hold to build up power. Let go. Too little and the ball
rolls back to you. Too much and it sails over the crest and away
down the far side. Get it right and it settles on top, and you move
on to the next hill.
That is the whole game. There is nothing else to learn.
FIFTY HILLS
Each hill asks a slightly different question - a long gentle climb, a narrow
crest, a double hill with a gap in the middle. The difficulty jumps around;
an easy hill can sit right after one that takes you twenty tries.
A WHOLE DAY, HILL BY HILL
The hills move through morning light into the middle of the day,
then late afternoon, sunset, dusk and finally night, with the moon and
fireflies. Cottages, rivers, orchards, windmills and mountains sit
in the distance. Butterflies drift over the daytime hills.
PLAY IT FOR A MINUTE OR AN HOUR
No timers, no lives, no energy to wait for, and no penalty for
missing. Try a hill as many times as you like. The game keeps track
of how many balls you used to finish all fifty, so there is
something to beat next time if you want it - and nothing pushing you
if you don't.
THINGS TO EARN
Glitter balls in pink, teal, blue and orange, and Animal Friends -
horses, sheep, a fox, an owl, geese, a deer and more - who turn up
quietly on hills all the way through the game. Both are optional and
purely decorative. Neither changes how the ball rolls.
MADE TO BE CALM
Soft music that fades between scenes, gentle sounds, and both can be
turned off in settings. No accounts. No sign-up. No leaderboards or
streaks. Nothing to miss out on if you put it down for a month.
Free to play, supported by ads.
Hold to build power, let go, and stop the ball right on top of the hill.
