Jarly is an envelope budget planner and expense tracker for people who want to know where
their money went without handing their bank details to an app.

You decide what each part of your income is for, put it in a jar, and spend from the jar.
When a jar is empty, that's it — which is the whole point, and the reason the paper
envelope method has worked for decades.

Your budget lives on your phone. Every feature works with no account and no connection —
Jarly is not a web app with an offline mode, it is an offline app that happens to offer a
backup.

That backup is the one optional extra: sign in with Google and your budget is copied to a
private cloud document, so a new phone picks up where the old one left off. Nothing is
uploaded until you sign in, and signing out stops it while leaving your budget untouched.

Either way there are no ads, no trackers and no analytics.

HOW IT WORKS

• Set your income for the period, then assign it to jars. A running "left to assign"
figure counts down to zero, so every dollar ends up with a job.
• Log a spend against a jar in about three taps. Jarly shows you what that jar will have
left before you commit to it.
• Watch the jar empty. Each jar is drawn as an actual jar with a fill level, so "how much
is left" is a shape you take in at a glance rather than two numbers to subtract.

WHAT YOU GET

• Payday-aligned periods — your cycle can start on any day from the 1st to the 28th, not
just the 1st. Paid on the 15th? Set it to 15 and every figure lines up with your bank
balance.
• Roll-over jars — leave money in a jar and it carries into the next period; overspend and
the debt carries too. Switch it off for a jar that should start fresh each period.
• A pace marker — the ring on the home screen shows not just what's left but where you
should be by now, so you can see you're running hot before the money is actually gone.
• Bills and subscriptions — record the fixed things (rent, phone, streaming) with the day
they fall due. Jarly reminds you and logs them into their jar in one tap. It never
connects to a bank and never moves real money.
• A daily check-in you can turn off — one notification that leads with whatever actually
matters: a jar that's over, a jar that's nearly empty, or how much a day you have left.
• Home-screen widget — money left, days remaining, and your three tightest jars.
• Insights — how many periods in a row you finished under budget, a six-period trend with
the over-budget ones in red, which weekdays cost you most, and a ranked breakdown of
where this period went.
• Refunds, notes, back-dating, one-off budget changes for a single period, jar archiving,
25 currencies, and a considered light and dark theme — alabaster and gold, or onyx and
champagne. Twenty-four icons and twelve jewel-tone accents to tell your jars apart.
• Optional Google backup — sign in and your budget is backed up privately and kept in step
across your devices. If two devices disagree, Jarly asks you which to keep rather than
silently merging two budgets together.
• Your data as a file — export a JSON backup anywhere you like with the system file
picker and restore it on a new phone. Works whether or not you ever sign in.

NO SUBSCRIPTION

Every feature above is in the app. There is no premium tier, no jar limit, no paywall on
reports, and no trial that expires.

WHAT JARLY DOES NOT DO

It does not connect to your bank or import transactions. Every spend is one you typed in —
which is slower, and is also why nothing is ever miscategorised and why no data broker has
your spending history.
