About this app

Download the Hoplr neighbourhood app for free and get the most out of your neighbourhood.

Hoplr - pronounce Β«hoplerΒ» - is the closed, ad-free neighbourhood app that makes it easier to:

πŸ‘‰ connect with the people who live nearby;
πŸ‘‰ stay up-to-date with alerts in your neighbourhood: such as traffic road works, garbage collection, upcoming noise nuisance,...;
πŸ‘‰ exchange used items with your neighbours: after all, it’s much easier to give away or receive second-hand items to or from people who live closeby;
πŸ‘‰ get an overview of all activities and events in your environment, or organise a fun activity for your neighbours yourself;
πŸ‘‰ offer or ask for help with chores or recommendations.

Private neighbourhood network Hoplr offers many functionalities, specifically designed for neighbourhood life. Here’s a quick overview of what Hoplr has to offer:

βœ” Looking for...: reach as many neighbours as possible at once. Has anyone lost their or found your pet? Can anyone loan you a ladder real quick?

βœ” Tips: your neighbours are probably happy to share their recommendations and experiences with local professionals and babysits.

βœ” Idea: do you have an idea to launch a mobile library or to renovate a playground in your neighbourhood? Share it with the local community! They can vote in favour or against your idea and can back you up with some helping hands.

βœ” Report: keep the neighbourhood safe by notifying each other of recent break-ins or suspicious activity.

βœ” Neighbour list: see who lives in the neighbourhood, filter by street name or profile name.

βœ” Private chat: start a private or group chat. This way, you can easily communicate with a specific part of your neighbourhood; such as a neighbourhood information network, a neighbourhood committee or your street.

βœ” Local guide: consult an overview of local organisations and tradesmen in your neighbourhood.

βœ” Communicate with your local government: receive alerts, activities and participation projects (such as questionnaires) from your city or municipality (provided they use Hoplr).

🏑 Your Hoplr neighbourhood network is accessible to your neighbours exclusively. This renders the app private and safe. If you choose to download the Hoplr app, you will be asked to fill in your address. This way, you will automatically be added to your only correct, private Hoplr neighbourhood, together with your actual neighbours. 🏑

App seems OK, but I have trouble with the multi-factor authentication. So I can't log in anywhere. Hoplr support is non-existent, sadly. They won't even reply to my emails to their support team. So, I'm rating poorly where I can until support is forthcoming.

You cannot block people who annoy you. Then you need to report the profile for some reason. That's a big lack! Also not able to delete reactions from others on your message. Ok, I think the concept is too tight. Never mind, uninstalled. Edit: excluded from your posts yes. Also the app keeps closing after... You are also not able to paste text. So while typing, the app is closed and you can start over again and again and again..

Apologies for the NL response earlier (Google shows translation). Allowing users to block each other would mean they're excluded from certain convos. This is not desirable within a local community. We aim to solve problems instead of deleting messages/start separate conversations/... Feel free to mail us at support@hoplr.com (very limited chars)
