About this app
Hopshift is the mobile app for your work schedule. Your employer adds you to it, you sign in with your work email, and your shifts and clock are right there when you open the app.
What's in the app
- Your weekly schedule. Look at this week or next week. See who else is on, what role, and at which outlet.
- Clock in and clock out. Tap Clock In when you arrive. The app records your location and snaps a verification photo so your manager can confirm you started your shift in the right place at the right time. Clock out works the same way.
- Your hours. A live timer counts up while you're on the clock. After your shift you can scroll back through every clock event from the past week.
- Leave requests. Annual leave, sick days, holidays. Pick the type, pick the dates, send. The balance card on the Leave tab updates the moment your manager approves.
- Overtime. Worked late? File the OT request from the app and your manager gets the approval flow.
How signing in works
- You don't make an account. Your employer adds you, and from then on you sign in with your work email. Each time, we send a 6-digit code to that email. No passwords, no Sign in with Apple or Google to remember, no extra services to manage. The first time you launch the app, you're already set up.
About your location and camera
- The app uses your location only at the moment you tap Clock In or Clock Out. Never in the background. The camera fires once per clock event to take that verification photo. You can turn either permission on or off from iOS Settings, and we explain exactly what each one is for the first time iOS asks.
About your data
- We don't run ads. We don't ship analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. We don't sell your data. The only telemetry library in the app is Apple's own push notification service. Your name, shifts, clock-ins, and leave requests are shared only with your employer, the same way they would be on a paper timecard.
