Turn your phone into a heads-up display for your favorite navigation app — no extra hardware required.
PiP HUD Mirror mirrors the small floating window (Picture-in-Picture) of any app on your screen, flipped for reflection onto your windshield. Prop your phone on the dashboard, and your turn-by-turn directions appear projected on the glass in front of you, right in your line of sight.
WORKS WITH POPULAR APPS THAT SUPPORT PICTURE-IN-PICTURE, INCLUDING
- Google Maps
- 2GIS
- YouTube
- VLC
- Google Meet
...and any other app that supports Android's Picture-in-Picture mode — not limited to this list.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Start navigation in your preferred app.
2. Minimize it into a small floating window (PiP) using the Home button or a gesture.
3. Open PiP HUD Mirror, tap "Start Mirroring", and allow screen recording.
4. Place the PiP window anywhere convenient — the rest of the screen becomes a mirrored, windshield-ready display of its content.
5. Set your phone on the dashboard, screen facing up.
FEATURES
- Works with any app that supports Android's Picture-in-Picture mode.
- Horizontal and vertical flip controls, so the reflection looks right no matter how your phone is mounted.
- Three display modes: fit with letterboxing, fill the screen (cropped), or stretch to fill exactly.
- Your flip and display choices are remembered for next time.
- Mirroring stops automatically if you close the PiP window, so it never keeps running pointlessly.
- Handles screen rotation cleanly.
- Available in 40+ languages.
- No ads.
WHY IT NEEDS ACCESSIBILITY ACCESS
PiP HUD Mirror uses Android's accessibility service for one narrow purpose only: to detect the on-screen position and size of the Picture-in-Picture window so it knows exactly what to mirror. It does not read, log, or transmit the content of any other app, and it does not collect personal data.
WHY IT NEEDS SCREEN RECORDING ACCESS
Mirroring requires Android's screen capture API (MediaProjection) to read the PiP window's pixels in real time. Nothing is recorded to a file, saved, or sent anywhere — frames are processed only in memory to produce the live mirrored image on your own device. The app has no internet permission, so nothing can ever be transmitted off your device.
A NOTE ON SAFETY
Use a proper phone mount and windshield placement so your phone stays secure while driving. Adjust settings before you start driving, not while in motion. This app is a display aid; always follow local laws regarding phone placement and use while driving, and keep your primary attention on the road.
