Learn English through conversation with Dobby, an AI-powered English teacher who speaks to you in his own voice. You call him like any other call, speak English, and he replies instantly, correcting you in Egyptian Arabic.
No login required. Simply enter your name, choose your age and level, and start your first call right away. No email or password needed.
The call: Dobby will start a conversation about a topic from your life, like your work, studies, travels, or food. Sometimes, he'll even act out a scenario, like ordering food at a restaurant or having a job interview in English. If you get stuck on a word, he'll give you the beginning of a sentence or two to choose from. If you don't understand, press "In Arabic?", and if you want to hear the sentence again, press "Repeat." You can also have the text displayed on the screen as you speak.
Correction: When you make a mistake in a sentence, Dobby will point out the mistake in Arabic and gently explain the correct way. It corrects things that change the meaning, like grammar and word choice, and your Egyptian accent isn't wrong with it.
After the call:
• Your score and points earned
• Sentences you made wrong, the correct ones, and the reason why
• New words you learned
My Words: Each new word is memorized with its meaning in Arabic and a sentence using it, and you can hear its pronunciation. The "Focus" tab tracks your recurring mistakes and the type of mistake you make most often, so you know what to study.
Levels: Starting from A1 and going up to C1, each level is divided into stages. If you're a beginner and want to learn English from scratch, Dobi speaks to you in more Arabic and short sentences. If you have a foundation, it increases your English and asks you more difficult questions as you progress through the levels. You accumulate XP and count the days you've spoken consecutively.
From call to call: Dobi remembers your name, your job, what you like, and the words you found difficult, and it revisits them in the next call. If you tell it you want more English, less correction, or slower speech, it will adjust accordingly for future calls.
Settings: Choose Dobi's male or female voice and listen through your speaker, headphones, or Bluetooth. It features a daily reminder, light and dark modes, and is available in Arabic or English. You can also change your name and age at any time.
Minutes: You get free call minutes every day. If you run out, watch a short ad to get more minutes.
