Vitals: Offline ICD-10 & ICD-11 Browser
A high-performance, offline-first reference tool built by a clinician for students, researchers, and health professionals.
The Story Behind Vitals
Iβm a doctor in training in Scotland. In my daily practice, I use the ICD-10 and ICD-11 classifications constantly, but I grew frustrated with the tools available. Most apps were either clunky and ugly, hidden behind expensive subscriptions, or failed the moment I stepped into a hospital elevator or a thick-walled building without Wi-Fi. Even the official websites are poorly optimised for mobile use.
Vitals started as a small side project to solve my own workflow issues. It grew into something much more ambitious: a mission to fit the entirety of the ICD-10 and ICD-11 datasets into a single, beautiful, and ultra-performant app. It took a long time to build and a lot of learning to get right, but I think Vitals finally delivers the fast, reliable experience that researchers, students, and professionals need.
β‘ Built for Field & Professional Use
True Offline-First: No internet? No problem. The entire database is stored locally. Whether you're in a lead-lined basement, a research lab, or a rural clinic, Vitals works instantly.
Instant Search: Using a dedicated high-performance engine (FTS4), find keywords, synonyms, and codes as fast as you can type.
Zero Subscriptions: No monthly fees, no ads, and no trackers. Just a professional-grade reference tool that respects your privacy and your wallet.

It is built to function entirely offline with no personal data collection, ensuring that your knowledge base is always at your fingertips, regardless of your location or connectivity.
π Roadmap
This app is still growing. Future updates will include:
- Cross-Version Mapping: Compare ICD-10 and ICD-11 side-by-side, to see how the classifications have moved between versions.
- Multi-language Support: Access global classifications in multiple languages.
- Big Screens: Proper support for tablets and foldables.
Disclaimer: This app is for educational and reference purposes only and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
