"Ichinochie" is a closed community app where patients with type 1 diabetes, their families, and their supporters can connect safely using nicknames (real names are not disclosed).
Type 1 diabetes care is a 24/7, 365-day-a-year, never-ending challenge.
We created a space where you can share the daily struggles that often come alone, such as the frequent blood glucose measurements, insulin calculations, and the difficulty of managing your health.
[Three Features of Ichinochie]
1. A safe space to vent: "Tweets"
This is a place to express the small difficulties of everyday life and moments of vulnerability. A mode is available where posts automatically disappear after a certain time (3 hours or 72 hours), so you can honestly express your feelings in the moment without worrying about them remaining. You can connect with others through warm reactions such as "I understand" and "You're doing great."
2. A Gathering of "Wisdom" Not Found in Textbooks
This app brings together valuable life hacks and real-life experiences (wisdom) from seniors that were scattered across the internet, covering topics such as school life strategies, how to pack snacks, and control during exercise. Organized into five categories—"Food, Mind, Skill, Body, and Lifestyle"—you can easily find the information you need.
3. A Place for Easy "Consultation"
You can discuss any difficulties or questions you have regarding daily care in a thread format. You can gather real-world advice from other users, and resolved consultations become valuable community assets as new "wisdom."
[Developer's Thoughts]
This app was developed by a father (IT engineer) of a child with type 1 diabetes.
As I myself faced daily care, I created a system that I felt I "needed"—a place like this.
You are never alone in your daily struggles with type 1 diabetes.
Please take a look at "Ichinochie." Your kind wisdom and words will support someone who is struggling right now. Let's grow this space together.
