About this game
Blockwise is a calm block puzzle on a 9x9 grid. Three pieces are on offer at a time. Drag one onto the board, and when a whole row, a whole column or one of the nine 3x3 boxes is filled, it clears and scores.
HOW IT PLAYS
• Drag a piece onto the board. Before you let go, the board shows exactly where it will land and every line or box it will clear.
• Fill a row, a column or a 3x3 box to clear it.
• Clear more than one at once for a combo: two at once are worth four times one.
• Clear on move after move for a streak, which raises every clear by half again, up to three times.
• When all three pieces are placed, three more arrive.
• The game ends when none of the pieces you hold fits anywhere.
TWO WAYS TO PLAY
• Endless: a new game every time, as long as you can keep finding room.
• Daily challenge: one game a day, with the same pieces for everyone on that date. Play it as often as you like and chase your best for the day.
MADE TO BE EASY ON YOU
• No timer and no lives. Think as long as you want.
• Prefer not to drag? Tap a piece, then tap where it should go.
• Your game is saved after every move, so you can leave and come back to exactly where you were.
• Light and dark themes, or follow your phone.
• A quiet music loop and soft sound effects, each with its own switch in the menu.
• A short picture guide on first launch, and any time from the menu.
• A gentle daily reminder at the time you usually play, if you allow notifications. You can turn it off from the menu.
FREE, WITH ADS
Blockwise is free and ads pay for it. There is a banner under the board, and a full-screen ad can appear when you start a new game after one has ended — never in the middle of a game. A small sponsored card can also appear on the game-over screen. An ad may also show when you open the app or come back to it. Two ads are always your choice: watch one to keep going when a game ends (once per game), or to swap the pieces you are holding. Turning them down costs nothing.
If you would rather not see ads, a one-time purchase removes the banner, the sponsored card and the full-screen ads for good. The optional reward ads stay available if you want them.
PRIVACY
Blockwise has no accounts and asks for no personal details. Where the law requires it, you are asked for consent before any ad is personalised, and you can change that choice from the menu. Usage data and crash reports can be switched off from the menu at any time. The full privacy policy is linked in the app and on this page.
