The Tavolara Punta Coda Cavallo Marine Protected Area affects the north-eastern coast of Sardinia and is managed by a Consortium made up of the municipalities of Olbia, Loiri Porto San Paolo and San Teodoro. The Marine Protected Area includes the islands of Tavolara, Molara and Molarotto, 15,000 hectares of sea and 40 km of coastline subject to protection for the naturalistic value of marine and island environments, for the landscape and for the level of conservation of the Posidonia meadows oceanic, polychrome sponges and ichthyofauna.
