ZhuiZhui is an offline map and activity tracker built for running, hiking and mountaineering, with worldwide offline maps. In Taiwan you can also choose Rudy Map.
【Two map engines to choose from】
• ZhuiZhui (vector map engine): a new vector renderer with smoother zooming and rotation and lower resource use. Adds a "Free rotation" map orientation: tap the compass to switch between North up, Heading up and Free rotation.
• OpenAndroMaps & Rudy Map(Taiwan) tile-based engine : keeps Rudy Map's original style and detail.
【Offline maps, no signal needed】
Supports Taiwan's Rudy Map and OpenAndroMaps worldwide maps. Download before you go; works with no signal in the mountains or abroad.
【Rich hiking information】
Taiwan maps include the 100 Peaks, survey points (tiers 1–3), huts, water sources, trailheads, info boards, guideposts, fords, emergency facilities (such as AEDs), trail difficulty (sac_scale), trail visibility (trail_visibility), and aids such as ropes and ladders. All symbols are designed so they don't rely on color alone.
【Taiwan trail closure info】
Uses open data from Taiwan's Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency. Before you set out, check closed, partly closed and reopening trails across Taiwan.
【Weather & tides】
Tap the map to see the local weather, feels-like temperature and a 3-day forecast. In Taiwan you also get live rain nowcasts and tide station info. The weather icon on the map updates with current rain.
【Clear contour lines】
Major and intermediate contour lines are labeled with elevation, so terrain is easy to read.
【Hiking compass】
A hiking compass sits at the lower right of the map. The dial rotates with magnetic north and shows N/E/S/W, so you can find your bearing without a separate compass.
【Running / hiking recording modes】
Live time, distance, ascent/descent and waypoint count. Auto-pause after 3 seconds standing still keeps stats accurate. Pause any time and mark waypoints with notes.
【Hike together in a group】
Enter a group name to create or join. Members' live positions appear on one map, and multi-day traverses join automatically into one track.
【Live location sharing for those waiting at home】
Turn on live sharing and your position uploads regularly. A private link is created automatically: family and friends need no app, sign-up or login. They open the link to see your current position and full route, even after the activity ends. It works like a satellite tracker's location sharing, but it is not satellite communication: uploading needs mobile data or Wi-Fi. Updates pause where there is no signal and resume when it returns. If you haven't moved for over 6 hours and the activity hasn't ended, your contacts and group members see a prominent warning on the web page so they can spot problems early.
【Compare reference routes on the map】
Overlay several saved routes to plan a trip, compare paths, or check while recording that you haven't strayed.
【Off-route alert】
If you stray beyond your set distance from a loaded reference route, you get a sound and vibration alert. The distance is adjustable (metric or imperial), and you can turn it on or off any time from the map or settings.
【Estimated arrival time】
Tap any point on the route to estimate when you will reach it. Long-press to pick two points and see how long it takes between them, so you can plan rests and your descent.
【Complete activity records】
Pace, split pace and ascent/descent stats are calculated automatically, with an elevation profile. Personal Records switch between running and hiking, and running lists best paces for 1 km / 5 km / 10 km / half / full marathon. The activity heatmap shows how often you train, with monthly and yearly stats.
【Import & export】
Import GPX and KML/KMZ; export and share as GPX.
【Chinese / English / Japanese】
The interface supports three languages, and your current map is kept when you switch language.
ZhuiZhui records every step of your journey.
