Why NeuraCache?

You read a book or an article and make notes & highlights. In a few weeks, you can't recall anything. Sounds familiar?

What about the great insights from the book you read last year? In the meantime, your notes stack keeps growing and growing.

What if there were a simple process of taking advantage of your brain's ingrained memory systems to LOCK information into your long-term memory circuits and retain what you read and learn forever?

NeuraCache was born to tackle this problem.

How?

NeuraCache uses two science-backed and battle-tested techniques:
Spaced Repetition and Active Recall (aka Flashcards).

NeuraCache will kick off Spaced Repetition, hands-free for each card from your notes.

When the time comes, NeuraCache algorithms will ask you for an initial review of the note/highlight - "How much do you remember?"

The next step of Spaced Repetition will be determined based on how much you can recall (Adaptive Pattern - based on SuperMemo2). It can be on the same day or even in 6 months. You can always manually re-review the notes yourself from the app. You can also use built-in static patterns like "review in 1, 5, 15, 30, 60 days".

For truly powerful results - instead of just seeing the note - set up an Active Recall question (think of it as a flashcard/Anki for your notes) and try to answer the question before revealing the contents of your note.

The privacy of your notes is essential to us 🤝
We never analyze/read their content. Data is stored only on your phone.

I think this app is a great idea that's very well implemented. For me, I just wish it worked with Obsidian a little better. The Markdown files (which are synced to my local phone storage) are not automatically scanned and updated. If the markdown features were just a bit more complete, I'd give this app 5 stars for sure. Hats off to the developers. Edit: Developers were very attentive and fixed my only issue. Five stars :)

Thank you Dylan for your kind words and time ❤️ Please have a look at our latest version as we finally have added the features you've mentioned (observe folder, single source of truth) 👍

Unfortunately this app has a major bug that is rather annoying. I use markdown files as the source of my cards. These are synced to my phone from my desktop computer. Every few day's the cards shown in NeuraCache quadruple. My progress on the cards are also lost. The only way I can solve this is to clear the Cache and re-import my cards. Its annoying to deal with but I am able to deal with it. Its just disconcerting that this occurs. I have used all sync settings for source truth.

This app is amazing. I've been using it with markdown files and it's pretty nice, and the great design and convenience of having it on my phone makes me use it a lot. I think it'd be nice to have a way to make flashcards natively though, for convenience, as well as a way to edit not only the question but also the answer in any card (I make mistakes on my cards a lot). Finally, it's kind of weird to me how the four button layout is a pro feature but the slider isn't. Shouldn't it be the reverse?
