To ensure you never miss a beacon while your screen is off or you are using other apps, Mobile Beaconer utilizes a Foreground Service. This allows the app to continuously monitor for "Managed Beacons" in the background.

You will always know when a scan is active via a persistent notification "Scanning for managed beacons," and you can stop it at any time directly from the app.
