As a former Sync user of 10 years here, this app makes for a very good replacement. It's certainly the most responsive of all the Lemmy clients I've tried, comes with a familiar UI and has nearly all the settings I need. 10/10 would recommend

It's infuriating to navigate. The app constantly locks you into a gesture menu that is critical to navigation and can't be disabled. It constantly votes on its own when you use gesture navigation in android. You spend more time wrangling the app than you do reading anything. It needs work.

It just keeps getting better and better. The dev is incredibly responsive on /c/summit. It used to be terribly buggy with instance-switching, but now it's nearly flawless!
