About this game

Someone at this table is a rat. Service Rat is a social deduction party game for 5 to 10 friends, in the spirit of Secret Hitler, Mafia, Werewolf and Among Us. Who's lying tonight? Who's acting sus?

The setting is a hand-drawn cartoon town run by cats, mayor's office and all. Most of the table are honest Cats who would like to keep it that way. A few are Sellouts, and they quietly know each other. One player is the Service Rat, the imposter nobody can spot. Every vote comes down to one word: MEOW! or HISS!

If you know Secret Hitler, you already know how to play this one. Each round the Mayor nominates a Ratcatcher and the whole table votes. If it passes, those two enact a law behind a closed door and nobody else sees what they threw away. As Rat Laws pile up the Mayor unlocks new prerogatives, more on those below. Five Cat Laws wins it for the honest majority, and so does kicking the Rat out of town. Six Rat Laws and the Rat Pack owns City Hall, or they win early by slipping the Rat into the Ratcatcher's chair.

🕵️ HIDDEN ROLES AND BLUFFING
Nobody at the table announces what they are. It's social deduction with hidden roles: one traitor working the room, everyone bluffing a little to cover for it. Played Mafia at a sleepover? Same feel. Everybody is hiding something and one wrong guess sinks the round. You read faces and votes, then bluff when the truth would just hand the Rat a free turn. Being the traitor is the best seat at the table, for what it's worth.

🐀 FIND THE RAT
So who's the spy? Maybe nobody yet. The Mayor's prerogatives help dig one up: Sniff Out checks a player's side, Peek at the Docket shows the laws coming, Snap Election skips to a fresh nomination, and Kick Out of Town removes a player for good, if the table has the nerve. Some of it is straight-up imposter mechanics, dressed up as small-town politics. Call it an impostor hunt or a spy hunt, the table just wants the truth.

🤖 PLAY WITH FRIENDS OR BOTS
Two people short of a full table? AI bots drop into the open seats and play their roles like anyone else. Go solo against a room of bots, or mix a couple of AI bots in when someone bails at the last minute. Bots keep the round moving, so nobody has to cancel over a missing fifth, and it's one of the easier games to play with friends when the roster never quite adds up.

📶 OFFLINE OR ONLINE
Pass and play needs nothing at all. Service Rat runs fully offline: no wifi, no internet, no account, nothing to sign up for. One of the better offline games for a road trip or a flight in airplane mode. Want to play from separate couches? Service Rat keeps votes and secrets synced online, so you can lie to each other from three cities away.

🃏 A CARD GAME IN YOUR POCKET
It's a hidden role card game with a docket instead of a deck, social deduction with nothing to shuffle. Think board game, minus the box and the bits that end up under the couch.

🎮 THREE WAYS TO PLAY
- Pass the phone around the table, everyone taking a turn in the same room
- Local multiplayer over Wi-Fi, each player on their own screen
- Online multiplayer anywhere, joined with a simple room code

❤️ WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT
- Fast rounds and an easy teach, a full game rarely drags past thirty minutes
- A proper adult party game for grown-up group nights, not a kids' app
- Fits 5 to 10 people, so the whole group plays and nobody sits out
- Built for fans of Secret Hitler, Mafia, Spyfall, Werewolf, Among Us and Goose Goose Duck
- Scratches the same itch as any good imposter game, minus the spaceship
- One of the best offline games you can hand someone with zero setup

👥 PERFECT FOR
It's a group game at heart. Family game night, or a party game for a birthday when nobody planned past the cake. Anywhere people were going to argue anyway.

Who's the rat this time? Download Service Rat and find out.

What’s new

Online got easier: a game can go on the open list, and anyone can walk in without a code. Want a private table? Leave the switch off, codes work as before.

Also new:
- Every online room has its own voice chat, so you can argue out loud about who the Rat is
- The host can remove a player from the lobby
- Added Italian
- The whole table taps through a vote result now, not one player, and won't wait if someone drops during it

Enjoying the game? Please rate us, it genuinely helps.
