„IKARUS TestVirus“ contains the "EICAR Standard Anti-Virus Test File"*. This is known by all professional anti-virus solutions and they should treat it like a real virus.

The app can be used to see if and how your security app works in case of an infection: Your security solution should warn you of an infection and block or delete the file.

The security app IKARUS mobile.security shows the note “IKARUS TestVirus” when detecting the file. Other anti-virus solutions may show different names for the app or just classify it as common malware.

Haha, thanks for the app. I wanted to see how effective the defensive systems I had set up were, and they acted perfectly! Was able to safely uninstall the file with no trace. Would definitely recommend for testing your device security. However, I feel like the application is outdated because I got several warnings even before I downloaded the file, it would help others if you tried to compress this so in a real life simulation where the virus got a chance to fight back, it soulf be accurate.

My AVG antivirus panicked when it saw this lol. Me and my antivirus dealt with a real one before and it was really scared when it saw a new virus lol (this isn't a virus ofc)

McAfee detected it from installation and as sonn as the download finished Device Maintenance warned me "Thread detected" and immediately told me to uninstall app. it is pretty good to test antivirus and completely not harmful.
