Just point your camera at a book cover. BookDue's AI reads the title, author, and ISBN automatically, downloads the cover, and lets you set a due date in seconds. Then it gently reminds you before the book is due - so you never pay another late fee at your library.

AI Photo Scan (the headline feature)
Snap a photo of any book cover. BookDue's vision AI reads the title, author, and ISBN straight from the image - even handwritten library labels. The captured photo becomes the book's cover thumbnail in your library.

Smart Due-Date Reminders
Three automatic local notifications per book:
- 3 days before the book is due
- 1 day before the book is due
- On the due date itself
All reminders fire on your device - they work even with no internet, and even on a locked screen.

AI Book Summaries
Tap any book and ask for a one-paragraph AI summary. Great for deciding which book to read first, or for refreshing your memory before a book club. Summaries are cached locally so each book only uses one AI call.

Barcode Scanner Too
Prefer the old-fashioned way? Scan the barcode on the back. BookDue looks up the title and author from the Open Library database.

Status at a Glance
Every book is colour-coded by urgency:
- Overdue: needs to go back today
- Due Soon: due within 3 days
- Safe: plenty of time left

Return History
Returned books move to a tidy archive. Great for remembering what your child has already read, or for re-borrowing favourites.

Multilingual
Available in English and Macedonian, with more languages on the way.

Private and Offline-First
All your book data stays on your device - no account, no cloud sync, nothing uploaded. Photos and summaries are cached locally. The only network calls are the AI photo / summary requests, which are sent directly to OpenAI and not logged on any BookDue server (because there is no BookDue server).

BookDue offers a 7-day free trial so you can try every feature at no cost - including the AI photo scan and AI summaries.

After the trial, a small monthly subscription keeps the AI features running:

Payment is charged to your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. Subscription automatically renews monthly unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED

Camera: only used when you tap "Scan with Camera" or "Scan Book". The camera is never active in the background.
Notifications: only used for the due-date reminders. You can disable these at any time in Android Settings.
Internet: required for the AI photo scan, AI summary, and Open Library cover lookup. The app works fully offline once a book is saved.
