Precision matters on the water

At long range, even a few degrees of error can mean many metres off course. Wind, waves, current, darkness or sudden fog can make it almost impossible to stay on the same straight line by sight alone.

Your boat can drift sideways without you noticing, the return route can turn into a zigzag, line bow increases, and tightening the line from shore can pull your rig away from the carefully chosen feeding spot.

That is exactly why CarpNavX was built.

GPS navigation made for boating out rigs

CarpNavX is not a generic fishing map. It is a purpose-built navigation tool for anglers who take rigs, bait or equipment out by boat. Developed from the practical experience and ideas of an experienced carp angler, it helps you place your rig more precisely and return to shore on a straighter line.

Save the bank, jetty or starting point as Home, mark your feeding spot, then start chain navigation:

Home → feeding spot → back to Home.

On the return journey, CarpNavX continuously shows:

• which way to correct;
• how far you are from the ideal straight route;
• remaining distance to the bank or starting point;
• current speed and GPS accuracy.

Instead of guessing your direction while paying out line, you can follow a clear reference back. At night, in fog or poor visibility, the saved Home point helps you navigate directly toward your fishing position and avoid unnecessary searching.

In competition, that can save valuable time. During everyday fishing, it can help keep your rig working where you actually placed it.

More than carp navigation

CarpNavX can be used whenever you take rigs, bait or equipment out by boat and want to return accurately to the same saved point:

• boilie and boat-out carp fishing;
• bottom fishing from a boat;
• placing catfish rigs;
• precise baiting;
• saving buoys and markers;
• marking legally placed traps or other equipment;
• any boat-based method where finding the same point again matters.

Map your water

Do not stop at feeding spots. Save snags, drop-offs, weed, silt, hard bottom, holes, plateaus, slopes, depth readings and your own bottom types.

The Radar feature lets you mark surveyed areas using multiple measurement points.

With Premium, you can save unlimited feeding spots, bottom points, snags and radar areas for each fishing location. Over time, you can build your own detailed digital map of the waters you know best.

Measure. Analyse. Improve.

CarpNavX can record data for each navigation, including:

• outward and return distance;
• total time and moving time;
• time spent at the feeding spot;
• average and maximum speed;
• average and maximum route deviation;
• estimated line bow.

You can also attach bait information, water depth, rod ID, feeding and rig-placement times, plus your own notes to saved points.

During development, CarpNavX was successfully tested on Lake Constance on navigation distances of around 1,600 metres.
