Excited that someone's developing a new app for browsing Xeno-canto. Thanks! But so far, it's almost unusable on my phone (Android 6). It becomes unresponsive all the time, and combined with the loading process for files, it's hard to tell what's going on. Maybe a good start would be to at least highlight the currently selected recording in the list (like show it in a different color). Also, is the download icon on the right a button, but the sound icon on the left isn't? Can't tell.

This is a wrapper for the Xeno Canto database, and seems to be one of the few that is actively maintained. You can download individual recordings for offline use, and it caches recently played recordings, but a major issue is that there is no way to bulk download a few recordings for all species in a given region. Edit: I earlier complained about the search, but within days the developer fixed this. Very responsive! Star rating adjusted because of this.

Hi there, thanks for your app, can I make another suggestion regarding short codes? Remove spaces, so tawny Eagle will then appear as an option if you type in yea (last letter of tawny plus first letters of eagle).
