About this app

Plan an observing night around your sky, equipment, weather, moonlight, and local sky class. Infinite Scope combines a personal sky guide, observing planner, event calendar, ISS tracker, local observing log, and optional ASCOM Alpaca telescope control.

PLAN WHAT TO SEE

• Build tonight or tomorrow observing plans; the free tier includes your Best 5
• Rank visible planets, stars, and deep-sky objects for your equipment
• Review best viewing windows, altitude, moon impact, weather, and light pollution
• Start a guided session and keep an on-device observing log

EXPLORE YOUR SKY

Browse planets, bright stars, constellations, galaxies, nebulae, and clusters. Use the interactive sky map and optional device pointing compass. Follow meteor showers, eclipses, conjunctions, and predicted visible ISS passes.

OPTIONAL FOREGROUND LOCATION

Location improves visible-object calculations, weather, and ISS predictions. Infinite Scope requests location only while the app is open. You can deny it and continue with a clearly labeled default location. Set your local Bortle sky class yourself for light-pollution scoring.

PRIVATE AND LOCAL FIRST

No signup. No ads. No developer analytics. Observations, sessions, favorites, plans, settings, purchase-entitlement cache, and recent telescope connections stay in app-private storage on your device and are excluded from Android backup. Erase all local app data from Settings at any time.

FREE + OPTIONAL PRO

The core app is free. Infinite Scope Pro is an optional one-time in-app purchase—not a subscription. Pro unlocks up to 12 ranked plan targets, full-night planning and advanced scoring controls, best-window alerts, and real ASCOM Alpaca telescope control. Pricing is shown by Google Play before purchase. Restore Pro from inside the app with the purchasing Google account.

TELESCOPE CONTROL

The built-in telescope simulator is free. Pro can connect to a compatible ASCOM Alpaca telescope server on your private local network, discover devices, view mount status, and send supported slew, sync, tracking, and abort commands. Always supervise physical equipment and use appropriate solar safety protection.

DATA SOURCES AND LIMITS

Weather is provided by Open-Meteo. Astronomy imagery and information may use NASA Open APIs, In-The-Sky.org, The Space Devs, and CelesTrak. Light-pollution scoring uses the Bortle class you choose in Settings. Those providers do not endorse Infinite Scope. Provider data and astronomical estimates can be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, or wrong.
Plan stargazing nights, explore the sky, and control compatible telescopes.

What’s new

Explore a redesigned sky map with smoother pinch and button zoom. Tap stars and other objects for detailed information. Adjust object labels by magnitude, with tap-anywhere sliders and matching limits up to magnitude 12. This update also improves the Pro purchase flow and Google Play connection recovery.
