Chordwise is a guitar practice app built around one idea — you learn a chord by recalling it, not by staring at it. Look up any guitar chord, quiz yourself in 60-second rounds, then tune up and practice in time. No account. No subscription. Nothing to sign up for.

CHORD DICTIONARY
Find any guitar chord in seconds. Major, minor, 7th, maj7, m7, sus2, sus4, add9, 6, m6, dim and aug across all 12 keys, with open shapes and barre shapes for each. Every chord chart shows finger numbers, muted and open strings, and the barre laid out on the fret it is actually played on. Type "Bb" or "Ebm7" and it just works — flat and sharp spellings both find the chord.

CHORD QUIZ
This is the part that makes chords stick. Five levels take you from essential open chords through barre chords, seventh chords, sus and add chords, to a mixed challenge. Two modes: see the diagram and name the chord, or see the name and pick the shape. Five seconds per question, instant right-or-wrong feedback, and your best score saved per level. Play as many rounds as you want — there is no energy meter and nothing to unlock.

CHORD PROGRESSION PRACTICE
Practise real chord changes, not isolated shapes. Eight common progressions including I-V-vi-IV, ii-V-I, twelve-bar blues and the canon progression, playable in all 12 keys. Set the tempo and the app moves through the progression with you so you can hear the change coming.

GUITAR TUNER
A chromatic tuner for standard EADGBE tuning. It shows the note, the string you are closest to, and how many cents sharp or flat you are, so you know which way to turn the peg. Audio is analysed on your device and never recorded or sent anywhere.

METRONOME
Adjustable from 30 to 240 BPM with 2, 3, 4 or 6 beats per bar and an accented downbeat. Slow-build practice mode raises the tempo automatically every few bars — the reliable way to take a chord change from clumsy to clean.

A chord of the day on your home screen. One new chord every day, one tap to open it.

DAILY PRACTICE STREAK
Short daily practice beats long occasional sessions. Chordwise counts your streak and can send a gentle reminder in the morning and evening. Turn reminders on or off, set your own times, and control sound and vibration in settings.
