The GATEWAY Program is a five-year initiative designed to enable 340,000 young Nigerians to
access and thrive in the global gig economy. By bridging the gap between digital skills and real
income opportunities, the program supports participants in building strong, verified portfolios and
connecting with meaningful gig work.
GATEWAY goes beyond traditional training by focusing on practical outcomes—helping
participants position their skills for global competitiveness and access real earning opportunities.
The program provides a combination of portfolio development, mentorship, and work-readiness
support to ensure participants are equipped to succeed.
To ensure inclusivity, GATEWAY offers flexible participation options. Participants can engage
virtually if they have access to the required tools, or utilise fully equipped tech hubs across 10
states in Nigeria. Eligible participants also receive additional support, including stipends and
access to financial services such as pensions, insurance, and cross-border payment solutions.
The program prioritizes young women, persons with disabilities, and underserved communities,
ensuring that opportunity is accessible to those who need it most. At its core, GATEWAY is about
unlocking access—enabling young Nigerians to turn their skills into sustainable income and
dignified work in the global digital economy.
