Metal Detector & EMF Meter reads your device's built-in magnetometer (magnetic sensor) to measure the magnetic field around you in real time. Sweep your phone over any surface and watch the reading climb as it approaches metal — no extra hardware needed.

🔩 METAL DETECTOR
Locate iron, steel, nickel and other magnetic metals hidden underground, behind drywall, under carpet or lost in your car seat. Great for finding dropped keys, tools, nails, screws, magnetic jewellery and metal pipes.

📡 EMF METER
Measure electromagnetic field strength near appliances, chargers, routers, speakers, power outlets and electronics. Readings are shown in microTesla (μT) so you can compare one spot against another.

🧱 STUD & WIRE FINDER
Sweep along a wall to find the metal screws and nails that mark stud positions, plus metal conduit and pipes — useful before you drill or hang a shelf.

📖 HOW TO USE IT

1. Open the app and pick a mode: Analog, Digital or Graph.
2. Note the baseline reading in an empty area (usually 25–65 μT).
3. Sweep your phone slowly and steadily over the target area.
4. Keep the TOP EDGE of your phone closest to the surface — that is where the magnetometer sits on most devices.
5. Watch for a sharp jump above your baseline. That jump is metal.

Tip: calibrate first by moving your phone in a figure-8 pattern, and remove any magnetic phone case or PopSocket before scanning.

⚠️ PLEASE READ BEFORE INSTALLING

* This app requires a built-in magnetometer. If your device does not have one, detection will not work. Check your phone's specifications first.
* It detects MAGNETIC metals — iron, steel, nickel and magnetic alloys. Pure gold, pure silver, aluminium and copper are non-magnetic and will NOT be detected.
* Range depends entirely on your phone's sensor and the size of the object — expect a few centimetres, not a few metres.
* This is a hobby and utility tool, not a professional or safety instrument. Do not rely on it for electrical safety, construction decisions or any health assessment.
