About this app

Instagram data downloads are huge. Unzipping them copies thousands of photos, videos, and JSON files onto your phone — twice the storage, still unreadable.

Instagram Export Viewer keeps one shared ZIP for every chat in that export—no per-chat copies. It opens like a real chat. Messages stay on your device. We do not upload your DMs.

Why people use it
• Unpacking an Instagram export fills storage fast
• Official folders are a file dump, not a conversation
• Long threads are split into name_1, name_2 folders
• Photos and voice notes are buried in nested directories
• You want a private record after you leave Instagram, without a cloud uploader

How it works
1. In Instagram, request your information and include Messages (JSON recommended)
2. Download the ZIP Instagram sends you
3. Open this app and import the ZIP — you do not need to unzip it first

What you get
• Instagram-style inbox and DM bubbles
• Search inside a conversation
• Photos, videos, voice notes, GIFs, files, shares, calls, and unsent messages
• One Messages ZIP shared by every chat—saves space, avoids duplicate copies
• Split conversations (name_1, name_2) merged into one timeline
• Media gallery
• Optional PDF export (Premium)

Privacy
Chats are parsed and stored only on your phone. We do not run user accounts or a server for your messages.

Tips
• Choose JSON (or JSON + HTML) so reply quotes appear
• HTML-only exports include reactions but not reply-to data
• Import only an Instagram download that belongs to you

Instagram Export Viewer is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram, Meta, or their affiliates.
