About this app

KeepOn Kids is the companion app for the KeepOn family safety service. It is installed on a child's device and works together with the KeepOn Guardian app on the parent's phone.

This is not a standalone app. To use it, a parent first sets up KeepOn Guardian, then installs KeepOn Kids on the child's device and pairs the two during a short, guided setup.

HOW KEEPON KIDS USES THE ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE
KeepOn Kids uses Android's AccessibilityService API to power its core parental control features on this device. The Accessibility Service allows the app to detect which apps are being used and view on-screen content, so it can: block apps and enforce screen time rules set by the parent, filter and alert on harmful websites, and detect safety risks in messages and chats. Information collected this way is used only to provide these parental control features and to alert the paired parent or guardian.

A persistent notification is always shown on this device while KeepOn is active, so the person using the device always knows monitoring is on.

WHAT IT DOES
Once set up by a parent, KeepOn Kids applies the protections chosen in KeepOn Guardian:
- Sends alerts when messages in apps like Instagram, Messenger, TikTok and SMS show something concerning
- Applies screen time limits and schedules
- Shares the device's location and battery status with the parent
- Filters harmful websites
- Requires parent approval before new apps are installed

HOW IT WORKS
A parent installs KeepOn Kids on the child's device, grants the permissions it needs to work, and links it to their KeepOn Guardian account. From then on, the parent manages everything from Guardian, and KeepOn Kids keeps those settings active on the device.

KeepOn is designed to help families keep children safe and to be used openly, with the child's awareness. It surfaces genuine risks so a parent can step in early — it does not replace the conversations that keep children safe.
