CellSpider records the mobile network cell your phone is actually connected to, and keeps a log of every distinct tower you pass through as you move.
Each reading is reported as one line: the network type, then MCC-MNC-TAC-CELLID. Nothing else to decode, nothing to cross-reference.
WHAT IT DOES
• Shows the serving cell for every active SIM, side by side. Dual-SIM and eSIM devices are read independently, so both networks are visible at once.
• Records each new tower as you travel. Towers stay in the list after your phone hands over, so a drive produces a complete record rather than a single snapshot.
• Keeps scanning with the app minimised or the screen off, with the current cell of each SIM shown in the notification shade.
• Saves every run on the device. Past sessions stay available until you delete them.
• Exports to CSV or XLSX through the share sheet — one session or all of them.
• Light, dark and system themes.
WHO IT IS FOR
Field engineers, network testers and anyone who needs a record of cell coverage along a route. It is a measurement tool, not a consumer signal meter.
PRIVACY
CellSpider makes no network requests at all. There are no servers, no analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising, and no third-party SDKs. Everything is stored in the app's own private storage on your device, and the developer never receives any of it. Data leaves only when you choose Export and pick a destination yourself.
The full policy is readable inside the app, with no browser required.
ABOUT THE LOCATION PERMISSION
CellSpider asks for precise location, but never reads your GPS position and never records coordinates. Android refuses to return any cell identity to any app that does not hold that permission, and requires system location to be switched on as well. It is a condition imposed by the operating system, not an indication that the app is tracking where you are.
The app also reads phone state, solely to list the SIMs active in the device so that each can be scanned. It does not read your phone number, IMEI, IMSI, contacts, call log or messages.
CellSpider monitors only the device it is installed on. It cannot locate, track or read anything from anyone else's phone.
REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITS
• Android 8.0 or later, and a device with a cellular modem.
• Precise location and phone permissions, with system location switched on.
• Neighbouring cells are not reported. Android does not decode their full identity, so they cannot be expressed as a tower ID and are deliberately left out rather than shown half-complete.
• Some manufacturers restrict background execution aggressively. If readings stop with the screen off, exempt the app from battery optimisation — there is a shortcut for this in the app.
CellSpider is developed by Intelkit Solutions.
