Pause before opening a distracting app.
Intent Mode helps you decide what you want to do, choose a time box, and keep that purpose visible while you use the app. Start a user-controlled focus session, follow the persistent timer notification, and check in when you finish.
HOW IT WORKS
- Choose the apps for which you want a more intentional launch.
- Add a purpose, such as replying to messages or watching one saved item.
- Pick a session length and start the app from Intent Mode or a pinned Intent Mode shortcut.
- Finish, extend, or cancel the session from the ongoing notification.
- Review daily and weekly summaries based on your local session history.
LOCAL BY DEFAULT
Intentions, selected apps, schedules, session history, check-ins, and settings stay on your device. Intent Mode has no accounts, ads, analytics, cloud sync, or network permission. You can delete all Intent Mode data from the Privacy screen.
OPTIONAL USAGE ACCESS
You can grant Android Usage Access to improve on-device time estimates for the apps you select. This access is optional. Intent Mode works without it, and usage information is not sent off your device.
YOU STAY IN CONTROL
Intent Mode does not use an Accessibility Service and does not block Android's normal app launcher. Opening an app directly from its regular launcher icon can bypass Intent Mode. For the intended pause-before-opening flow, launch a selected app from Intent Mode or use its pinned Intent Mode shortcut.
Intent Mode is a productivity and digital-wellbeing utility. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or guaranteed outcomes.
