** Please note that due to the popularity of this app and the limits on the free number of notifications imposed by Google you may not receive notifications, even if registered to do so.

The aurora borealis (or northern lights) is a spectacular natural phenomenon which can occasionally be seen in the night sky over Britain. Once seen, it is never forgotten. The whole point of this app is to send a notification when there is an aurora. It doesnt, and hasn't done so for ages. So I uninstalled and reinstalled the app but still failed to receive notifications of red alerts. The app has good clear information to see, but it's no good if it doesn't send notifications to tell you there is an aurora. outside. Surely that's the whole point of the app.

I have my notifications set for alerts to amber and red, and yet I missed out on some high activity over the past few days again, including today (as of when I wrote this review), and it just isn't fair. I have been literally and metaphorically left in the dark as to when the next display of nature might be.

Thank you for taking the time to get in touch. An update to Google services broke the alerts. This is now fixed, and alerts are coming through again.
