About this app

After brain damage, e.g. a stroke, there can be a loss of speech (called aphasia). With the neolexon aphasia app, you can train at home free of charge in addition to your speech therapy - and as much as you want! You always have your speech therapy exercises to hand on your tablet or PC.

The self-training is individually adapted by your speech therapist to your personal needs and the severity of the speech disorder. Setting up your own training is completely free for the therapist and can be done on a PC or tablet.

✅ Free use: The aphasia app is reimbursed by all statutory health insurance companies in Germany as an approved digital health application (DiGA) and registered medical product (PZN 18017082).

✅ Individual therapy: Your therapist will put together words, phrases and texts that fit your personal interests and the severity of the aphasia.

✅ Practice at any time: Your individual practice sets can be practiced independently in the areas of understanding, speaking, reading and writing.

✅ Easy to use: Clear photos, large control surfaces and lots of help make the app very easy to use. No previous experience is necessary.

✅ Data protection: Patient data is stored in Germany with security standards in accordance with GDPR and protected by technical precautions. A certified information security system according to ISO 27001 is available.

✅ Highest quality standards: The app was specially developed for the needs of patients by a team of speech therapists and computer scientists at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and is registered as a medical product.

When practicing with the aphasia app, you will be offered a lot of help: For example, you can play a video in which the word is spoken to you. Many sufferers find it helpful to see the movements of the mouth. You will also receive feedback during training as to whether your answer was correct or incorrect.

The app automatically documents your progress and displays it in clear graphics. Your therapist accompanies the self-training and can constantly adapt it to your learning progress. You always train at your personal performance limit and are never under- or over-challenged. The app also contains motivating feedback in the form of stars, which are worked out every 10 minutes and are displayed in a weekly overview.
