Lost or broken set top box remote? Turn your phone into one in seconds.
STB Remote is a universal remote control for set top boxes, cable boxes, satellite receivers, DTH and digital TV decoders. It uses your phone's built-in infrared (IR) blaster to send the very same signals as the original remote, so it works offline — no Wi-Fi, no Bluetooth, no pairing, no account.
Choose your brand, tap the remote that responds, and you are done.
★ 1,800+ BRANDS, 5,400+ REMOTES
A huge built-in IR code database covering set top boxes and receivers worldwide, including Airtel, Tata Play, Dish, DishTV, Videocon, Humax, Cisco, Huawei, Arris, Motorola, Coship, Kathrein, Freeview, Virgin Media, Foxtel, Astro, beIN, Claro, Izzi, Movistar, Nova, Sky, StarTimes, ZTE and many more.
★ NO SETUP HEADACHES
Pick your brand and the app lists every remote it knows for it — Remote 1, Remote 2, Remote 3. Tap the red test button on each one until your box reacts, then open it. One remote? It opens straight away.
★ A FULL REMOTE, NOT A FEW BUTTONS
Power, volume, channel, mute, the arrow pad with OK, menu, guide, info, back and exit, a complete number pad, colour keys and playback controls. Every extra key your model supports — subtitles, audio, zoom, teletext, favourites, PVR — appears in the Extras section. Keys your box doesn't have are dimmed, so you never press something that does nothing.
★ SAVE YOUR REMOTES
Keep as many remotes as you like on the home screen: the living room box, the bedroom box, a parent's box. Rename them, reorder your setup, and switch code sets any time if a key stops working.
★ LIGHT AND FAST
A few megabytes in total, opens instantly, works with the screen in dark mode, and keeps everything on your device. No login, no cloud, no remote server.
IMPORTANT — DOES YOUR PHONE HAVE AN IR BLASTER?
This app needs a phone with built-in infrared hardware. Many Xiaomi, Redmi, POCO, Realme, Honor, Huawei, Samsung Galaxy (older models), TCL and Vivo phones have one; most recent iPhones and Pixels do not. The app tells you on the home screen if your phone has no IR blaster. It cannot control a box over Wi-Fi.
HOW TO USE
1. Open the app and pick your set top box brand.
2. Point the top edge of your phone at the box.
3. Tap the test button on each remote in the list until the box responds.
4. Open that remote and save it. That's it.
TIPS
- Point the top of the phone at the box, within about 5 metres and in line of sight.
- If some keys work and others don't, switch to another remote for the same brand with the CHANGE button.
PRIVACY
No account, no sign-up, no personal data collection. Your saved remotes stay on your phone. The app shows ads to stay free, and asks for your consent choices where the law requires it — you can change them any time from the Privacy button on the home screen.
DISCLAIMER
STB Remote is an independent universal remote application. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or otherwise connected to any set top box manufacturer, TV channel operator or service provider. All company names, brand names, product names and trademarks mentioned in this listing or shown inside the app belong to their respective owners and are used only to describe which devices the infrared codes can control.
The app works only through the infrared (IR) blaster built into your phone. It cannot control a device over Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or the internet, and it will not work on a phone without IR hardware. Manufacturers use different code sets across models, regions and production years, so a box may answer only some keys, or none. Try the other remotes listed for your brand with the CHANGE button before leaving a review — that solves most cases, and we keep adding codes.
Free, lightweight, and built to replace the remote you can never find.
