About this app

Every ebook is now an audiobook. Talebird is an EPUB reader and audiobook app in one: it reads your books aloud in a natural voice, and the word being read lights up on the page so you can follow along. All 7 voices (English, Turkish, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese) run right on your phone, no internet needed. Add thousands of free books with one tap; your books and notes stay on your phone. Think of it as text to speech made for books.

🌍 Natural voices in 7 languages
• Listen to books in English, Turkish, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese.
• All 7 languages work offline: keep listening on a plane, on the subway, on holiday.
• Pick the languages you read on first launch and the voices get ready for you. Add or remove them anytime in Settings › Voice packs.
• Every book is read in its own language, taken from the book's file.

🎧 Listen
• One tap and your book is read aloud; the sentence and word being read are highlighted on the page.
• Keep listening with the screen off or in other apps.
• Back/forward 2 sentences, previous/next chapter; see the time left in the chapter and the book.
• Speech rate 0.8 / 1 / 1.2; a sleep timer fades out at the end of the chapter or after a set time.
• Numbers, dates and abbreviations are read the way they are spoken; decide how a word is read with the pronunciation dictionary.
• Footnotes are skipped; select a passage and tap "Listen from here".

• Project Gutenberg: over 78,000 public-domain books; search, filter by language and add them in one tap.
• Wikisource: classic works by language; search for an author to see all their works.
• Our picks: hand-picked classics in each of the 7 languages.

• Select text: highlight in color, add a note, listen, share.
• Highlights, notes and bookmarks from all your books in the Notes tab. Filter by type, group by book, search; tap to jump to the spot.
• Share a favorite line as a beautiful quote card.

📖 Read comfortably
• Pick up from the exact sentence; you never lose your place between reading and listening.
• Text size, fonts (Literata, plain, dyslexia-friendly), line spacing and margins.
• White, sepia, night and pure black (OLED) pages; light, dark or system theme.
• Reading mode: tap the middle of the page to hide the bars and read full screen.

🗂 Your library
• Add DRM-free EPUB 2 and EPUB 3 books one by one or hundreds at once.
• Your shelf: search all your books, filter by favorites, reading and finished, and sort.
• Cover, author, publisher, language and ISBN are read from the file; fill in missing details from Open Library if you like.

🔗 Your own catalogs and sync
• OPDS catalogs: add Calibre-Web, Booklore or any OPDS server; browse, search and download books to your shelf in one tap.
• Reading sync: your place stays in step both ways through a KOReader sync server (e.g. Booklore); you are told when you read further on another device.

Notes
• Read-aloud uses an AI-generated voice; it is not a real person's voice.
• All 7 voices are made on your phone once the language's voice pack is downloaded (35–53 MB, once). Before that, or for books in other languages, Talebird's voice server (sentences are used only to make speech and are not stored) or your phone's text-to-speech voice is used.
• DRM-protected books can't be opened.
• The app is available in English, Turkish, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese.

What’s new

Connect your own library: add OPDS catalogs such as Calibre, Kavita, Komga or Booklore under Settings › Book sources, then browse, search and download with one tap. Your place syncs both ways with Booklore and KOReader servers. If a book's language is wrong, fix it on its page. Pages now turn with a paper curl.
