Buanji (Parents' Phone Safety Guardian) is a protection app that allows parents to keep the apps they normally use as they are, while restricting the execution of newly installed apps until a family member confirms them.

It was created to reduce instances where unfamiliar apps are suddenly installed or launched in voice phishing or smishing situations. Calls from people impersonating prosecutors, police, financial institutions, or acquaintances asking you to "install an app" can be a warning sign.

Buanji detects newly installed apps and restricts their execution until guardian approval is obtained. You can continue to use apps you normally use, such as phone calls, text messages, KakaoTalk, banking apps, and photo apps.

Setting Guide

Buanji is not an app that parents set up themselves. Please have a child or guardian set it up for the first time while looking at your parents' phone together. Once the setup is complete, parents can use their phones as usual.

Required Permissions — Accessibility Service

Buanji uses the Android Accessibility Service API.

• It only checks the currently running app (package name) and app switching status.

• It is used solely to detect unauthorized app launches and move them to the home screen.

• It does not read or collect screen content, keystrokes, passwords, or text messages, KakaoTalk messages, or call logs.

• Parents must enable this manually in Android settings, and it can be turned off at any time.

• If accessibility is turned off, the execution blocking feature does not work.

Other Permissions

• Notifications: Notifications regarding blocking, protection status, and permission removal

• Battery Limit Removal: Maintains protection features in the background (especially necessary for Samsung Galaxy devices)

Limitations

Buanji is not an antivirus app and does not detect all voice phishing or malicious apps. Accessibility permissions alone cannot block all attempts to bypass restrictions. It helps parents use their phones more cautiously by "pausing new apps and unlocking them once a family member confirms them."
