APP now placing ITV News "What you need to know" podcast onto my home screen everytime I access the News via the APP. This is unwanted and is not what I need to know but rather someone at ITV thinking I need to know, which is wrong. I have notifications blocked for ITV News in my settings but the APP just ignores these settings. This has only started happening recently. Will un-install if KTV continue to push thier own agenda onto my phone.

Very basic app with surprisingly little content. Good to have the local weather videos. As a publisher they should (but don't) set the do not track tag when referring the user to Twitter et al videos, because even if you have an account it's difficult to enforce your privacy settings through the browser embedded in this app. Update: In the years since I wrote that there was little content it has dwindled further, to the point there are only a few stories that haven't been there for a week.

The use of cookies options is very complicated and turns out to be a long drawnout unclear process. Even when you jump through all the hoops , navigate all the twists and turns, and selected your options, when you enter the app for the first time, you are still required to accept cookies. Far too complicated, I'll get my news from the BBC.
