About this game

Hear two notes. Name the distance. That's the whole game.

Ear training is the most useful skill a musician can have, and almost nobody practises it — because every app for it opens on a grid of jargon. Two Notes never asks you to learn a word before you can play. The first questions ask only whether the second note was higher or lower.

The reveal
While the two notes sound, the screen tells you nothing. Mute the phone and you cannot answer — that is the point. The moment you answer, the two notes are drawn in their real relationship and resolve into a short musical phrase, so you hear the interval doing something musical instead of sitting in a vacuum.

Miss, and you hear your mistake: the answer you picked plays back to back with the one you needed. Nobody explains it to you. You hear it.

Rivals and duels
Miss the same interval three times and it becomes a rival. It gets a name, a mark, and it starts turning up more often. Beat it three times in a row and it challenges you to a duel: five questions, that interval against the one you keep confusing it with. Win and it is off your list for good.

One number, in plain words
Your Ear Rating always comes with a sentence about what you can actually do today — "you're telling big leaps from small ones" — and the number second. No verdicts.

What you get for free
• Unlimited practice runs
• The Daily Challenge — ten questions, the same ten for everyone
• Every rival and every duel
• Works offline, with no account and no sign-up

Two Notes Pro
Pro is the coaching, not the game: The Session, a short daily set built from the interval pairs you personally confuse, a weekly target, and the proof it is working. The game itself stays free forever.

Made for
Guitarists, singers, pianists, producers, bass players, self-taught musicians and anyone who has ever suspected their ear is worse than their hands. Useful whether you read music or not.

No accounts. No leaderboards to lose. No fake countdowns. Just two notes, and the distance between them.
Hear two notes, name the distance. Ear training you can start today.
