iWasThere: Attendance logger helps you track whether you were at your chosen places each day—without opening the app every time.
What it does
• Define places that matter to you: home, office, gym, studio, or any location you care about.
• Automatically record daily presence: the app checks your location periodically in the background and marks each day as "present" or "not present" for each place.
• View history and weekly attendance in the Calendar tab. Adjust or override entries manually if needed.
• Optionally sync presence to Google Calendar so "I was there" appears in one place alongside your other events.
How it works
You add places on a map (by address or current location). The app uses a 20-metre radius around each place to detect when you're there. A background check runs periodically (about every 15 minutes) so attendance is recorded even when the app is closed. All place and presence data is stored on your device.
Location and permissions
The app needs location permission (including "Allow all the time" / background access) to detect when you are at your saved places and to record attendance automatically. You’ll see a clear explanation in the app before the permission screen. Location data is stored only on your device and is not sent to our servers. If you turn on Google Calendar sync, only place names and dates are sent to Google to create calendar events—not your raw location.
Privacy
Your places and attendance records stay on your device. We don’t sell your data. No account is required to use the app; sign-in is only for optional Google Calendar sync. For full details, see our Privacy Policy in the app or on the store listing.
