The Northwest Public Broadcasting App allows you to enjoy the services of Northwest Public Broadcasting - radio and TV (NPR and PBS). Listen and watch your favorite shows/clips anywhere you want to. Started with 2 stars due to performance issues. The app would stop for no reason. Those issues were resolved. So I changed to 4 stars. Only deserves 1. It will not even open. Keep getting a message saying that an internet connection is needed. Which is strange because all of the other apps on my phone that require an internet connection work fine. My Wifi tests out to over 100 mbps download and upload. Streaming directly from the NWPB site works fine. This app is the only way that does not.

I am an avid NPR listener and supporter, but this app is the worst! It stops constantly during programs for no reason, especially if I move the phone; this became worse when I upgraded to the S10. When I close out, I get messages all day long that the app is still running. The sound comes thru tinny or digital sounding, but if I'm on NPR One, it sounds fine for the same program. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but that doesn't seem to help. Love the station, hate the app.

There is something wrong with this app. It drains my battery (even if I'm not actively listening to anything) and it causes my phone to overheat. I have a Pixel 5a, which is a pretty new phone and I can usually get up to 36 hours on a charge, but if I run this app it will run down to zero within 4 hours of opening the app (again, even if I'm not listening to anything). The functionality is great, but the implementation is broken. Please fix it!
