I created Car Cast to help me deal with my hour long commute. I use it every day, I love it - but hey, it's my baby. Feel free to try it out and let me know what you think.

Car Cast is a simple audio podcast downloader and player. Optimized for use in a daily commute, it features big buttons, large text, remembers last played location. CarCast is open source software.

I use this for many years for its intended purpose, and I found a large and simple controls to be excellent for use in the car. Unfortunately, the app doesn't seem to be maintained and it doesn't work with the newest versions of Android. Does anyone have a replacement they would recommend? Google has a native podcast app, but it's entirely too fiddly to use while driving

Used for many years. Would still be using it but it doesn't quite work with bluetooth media controllers. This app is Open Sourced and I tried to fix the media controller issue myself. Even though I think I figured out the issue, it so old, and I'm no Java expert; I couldn't build the project. Best interface and easiest to use app in it's class. Just needs some TLC to bring it up to date with modern Android. Thanks to the author for contributing it to the community with an open source license. I hope somebody picks it up again.

This used to be my go to app for podcasts. I upgraded to the Galaxy S10 and now I'm getting a message saying that it may not work on this android version. Also it has been crashing my bluetooth stereo in my truck while other apps work just fine with it. I'm sorry to say that after having this app for more than 5 years I'm going to be deleting from my new phone.
