Imsak or Imsakiyah term applies both when running fast
Ramadan fasting is obligatory as well as when running the sunna fasting as
Fasting on Mondays and Thursdays. Understanding of Ruling itself derived from Arabic
namely amsaka yumsiku Ruling means hold. So, from the definition
hold, means of Ruling or Imsakiyah time is the time of commencement
to hold all the things that break the fast. But, at the time of Ruling
still allowed to eat and drink, for not entering a time
dawn. In the prayer schedule time is usually listed Ruling, in
Ruling or Imsakiyah this sense is when a person must
begin to stop eating a meal in order not to miss up sign
dawn. Understanding Imsak here implies a warning or
caution.

Rasul is based hadith narrated from Sayyidina Anas:
Sayyidina Zaid bin Thabit r.a. said, "We have been eating a meal

'Worth the time it takes to read 50 verses.' "
Fasting in the language mean to hold, from doing something
deed. Meanwhile, according to the terms of fasting is to refrain from
all us something that break the fast from dawn until
sunset with intent and with certain conditions. Fasting
consists of fasting obligatory and sunnah fasting. Fasting is required there are three, namely
Ramadan fasting, fasting vows and fasts Kifarat.
