About this app

With ToteScan you can easily itemize your storage totes and containers to help you quickly find the things you need. ToteScan works by scanning official ToteScan labels that are available for purchase either in-app (to be downloaded and printed), or through an online retailer to ship to you directly (peel and stick ready to go).

The ToteScan labels are individually connected with your account, and by affixing them to your totes and containers, you can easily scan and add items that you place into the containers. Once entered, you can use the built-in text search capability to find totes by name, individual item name, description, or keyword.

ToteScan supports family sharing with the ability to add profiles to the account for individuals to keep separate collections, but still be within the same account.

Additional ToteScan labels can be purchased in-app and digitally delivered to you by email link. You can then print them on basic paper, cut them out, and tape to your totes and containers. Or you can choose to buy pre-printed ready to peel and stick ToteScan labels and have them shipped to you.

Ratings and reviews

Fairly simple to use, doesn't have tons of features that aren't really needed. And best of all, no fees that I've come across other than the purchase price of the labels. I'm of the opinion that, if I put in the effort to put the information into an app, I shouldn't have to pay money just to get it back out, and this one will happily send you data with links to the photos you took, so you can get back the effort you put in without paying a ransom. Very nice.

This has great potential. Really smart idea & one of the most cost efficient. What needs serious improvement is there is no guide anywhere on how to use it.You have to figure it out on your own. My biggest frustration is w/ naming totes. They give each tote a code & you can name it secondarily, but when you search for an item, it comes up showing their code, not the name of your tote. If there's a way around this, I'll never know because there's no guide. Recommended if you have patience!

I found ToteScan while looking for a replacement for Duck Pack & Track. ToteScan is exactly what I needed. I love that I can pay for the labels and immediately print them myself - very convenient. Currently using it as I get ready to move, and I like knowing that I won't have to dig through multiple boxes if I need something specific before I unpack. The only improvement I would like would be the ability to add multiple items at once. It can be a bit tedious adding a lot of items one at a time.
