About this game

Jane Street's fast-paced Figgie card game simulates exciting elements of markets and trading.

Invented at Jane Street in 2013, Figgie was designed to simulate open-outcry commodities trading. Players negotiate trades for cards of different suits over a series of rounds. Like in poker, your objective in Figgie is to make money.

Most of the skill in Figgie is in negotiating trades that benefit both the buyer and seller.

Each Figgie deck contains 40 cards of four suits: two 10-card suits, one 8-card suit, and one 12-card suit. The suit matching each count is random and not known to the players until the end of the round. Only one special suit, the goal suit, has any value. Players attempt to deduce the goal suit while buying and selling cards.

Figgie can be played by 1 to 5 players.

At Jane Street, Figgie is a game we teach and really enjoy playing. Join us!

Neat game design. App needs work. Also, as of june 25 2024 it lacks a critical mass of players. Can't find anyone to play with. 1. all bids and offers are deleted as soon as any trade is made on anything. It should only clear it for the suit that traded 2. The bots move really fast. Actually this is a good thing, except that they are thus wiping out all bids and offers too fast. Too fast for you to type anything 3. Really hard to tell what trade just completed. Who paid how much for what?

Loved the concept. Only problem is it's too slow and buggy, sometimes scores randomly change.

The bots are pretty bad but it's a nice concept Shorter time control makes it more exciting as you can't really try and deduce what players have which would be possible in a longer time control format Server connection stability is woeful
