About this app

Slam Caster turns your Android phone into a live radio studio. Broadcast to Icecast, Shoutcast and RTMP servers, mix your microphone with music and jingles, and record the show while it goes out.

Built for people running a real show — DJs, radio hosts and podcasters who need a talk button that works, music that ducks under their voice, and a jingle they can fire without stopping anything else.

BROADCASTING
• Icecast, Shoutcast v1, Shoutcast v2 / DNAS, RTMP and RTMPS
• AAC, AAC+, MP3, OGG Vorbis and FLAC
• Keep up to three servers configured and broadcast to two at once — a main server and a backup, or your station and YouTube together
• Send the current song title automatically, or set a fixed title of your own
• Live listener count on Icecast servers
• Runs in a foreground service, so the broadcast continues with the screen off

MICROPHONE AND MIXING
• Microphone, USB and multichannel interfaces, or audio files — mixed together
• Input trim, so a quiet microphone sits properly over the music
• Push To Talk, with an invert option that turns it into a cough button
• Automatic ducking: the music drops the moment you talk and returns when you release
• Two volume presets to switch between
• With a multichannel interface, pick one channel for mono or any two for a stereo pair

SOUND
• Five-band equalizer, delay and reverb
• Boost — an automatic loudness leveler that holds the whole mix steady, measured in LUFS so you can match what the streaming platforms normalise to
• Lookahead limiter to keep peaks under control
• Monitor through headphones; without them the monitor mutes while you talk, so the microphone cannot feed back

SOUND BOARD
• Sixteen pads for jingles, beds and stings, fired polyphonically
• Each pad takes a name and colour of your own
• Pads fill with colour as they play, so you can see how long is left
• A talk button on the board itself

PLAYLISTS
• Up to five named playlists
• Add audio from your device or any storage provider
• Repeat and shuffle
• Switching playlists does not interrupt the song that is playing

VIDEO OVER RTMP
• Broadcast audio and video to YouTube, Twitch, Facebook or any RTMP service
• Use a camera or a still image as the source
• Front or rear camera, rotation and mirroring
• Fill or fit framing, so the picture keeps its proportions instead of stretching
• Up to 720p

RECORDING
• Record while you broadcast, in any supported format
• Play recordings back in the app, share them, or delete them

PRIVACY
Slam Caster collects nothing. No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. Your settings and credentials stay on your device, and your audio goes only to the servers you configure.
