About this app

Turn a motion into a moment. CosNFX — Costuming Networked Special Effects — makes your Wear OS watch fire a hero-grade sound, a reactive on-screen effect, and real-world props the instant you move. Flick, strike, or raise your arm and the effect lands on cue, hands-free.

Every part of it is yours to shape. Record your own gestures, chain them into combos, and bring your own media — upload your own sounds and art and wire them to any move. All 30 ready-made character identities are starting points you rebuild into your own.

HOW TO USE IT
1. Install CosNFX on your Wear OS watch.
2. Open it and double-tap to arm — or add the CosNFX tile to your watch and arm with a single tap.
3. Perform a gesture — it fires the sound.
4. To customize, open Mission Control in any phone or laptop browser on the same Wi-Fi (enter the 6-digit PIN the watch shows), or install the companion phone app. Pick sounds, record gestures, set the look, and wire up props.
5. Go Pro ($4.99, one-time) for your own uploads, custom gestures, real prop control, multi-device playback, and Battle mode.

ONE GESTURE, THREE EFFECTS
- SOUND — a low-latency, hero-grade sound fires the instant you move.
- ON-SCREEN EFFECT — a reactive energy field washes the watch face in your identity's colors.
- REAL PROPS & LIGHTS — drive WLED suit LEDs, Philips Hue, Home Assistant (smoke machines and fans), and ESP32 builds over Wi-Fi. DMX (Art-Net) and OSC reach pro lighting consoles and show-control rigs, so one move can flash your costume and trigger a fog burst together.

MAKE IT YOURS
- Bring your own media — upload WAV, MP3, or OGG sounds and your own art, and assign them to each gesture (Pro).
- Record your own custom gestures, and calibrate any gesture to the way YOU move (Pro).
- Chain gesture combos into a finisher move.
- Control the look — pick the HUD backdrop, energy field, and colors, then upload your own art (Pro).

GESTURES
Seven pre-calibrated moves are ready out of the box: underhand, overhand, forward strike, down-punch, hip-thrust, fist-clench, and overhead raise. A quick double-tap arms or disarms hands-free.

MORE TO PLAY WITH
- 30 built-in identities — heroes, monsters, and mages, each with its own sounds, color, reactive effect, and cinematic backdrop, ready to rebuild.
- Watch tile — swipe to CosNFX and one tap opens it already armed, so you're firing a second after you raise your wrist.
- Companion phone app — control everything, play every effect from an on-screen gesture pad, and use the phone as a second speaker and a camera-flash muzzle. It runs over Bluetooth, so it works with Wi-Fi off.
- Mission Control browser panel — tune everything from any device on your Wi-Fi, locked behind the watch's 6-digit PIN.
- Route your audio to the watch, phone, or browser, and play across multiple devices at once (Pro).
- Battle mode — link watches for versus play: strikes deal damage and holding Raise blocks a hit (Pro).

PRICING
Free to download. All 30 identities and the whole sound and visual library are free. One optional one-time Pro unlock ($4.99, no subscription) adds your own uploads, custom gesture recording, real light and prop control, multi-device playback, and Battle mode.

PRIVATE & STANDALONE
CosNFX runs on your own devices with no account and no ads. Mission Control is protected by a 6-digit PIN shown on the watch, and connections stay on your local network, so you stay in control even on shared convention Wi-Fi.

REQUIREMENTS
A Wear OS watch (built and tested on the Galaxy Watch 7) and/or the CosNFX companion phone app. Mission Control works from any device on the same Wi-Fi.
Trigger costume sounds and visuals with gestures from your Wear OS watch.

What’s new

The companion keeps up with the watch.

- Switching identity swaps the sounds cleanly, instead of playing the last character
- The gesture pad fires once, through whichever output you assigned it
- Torch flash and the VFX Stage keep working with phone audio switched off
- The header now tells you when the watch link drops
- Your music gets handed back when there is nothing to play
- Sound names match the gestures you see on the watch
