Big improvements in the past few years. Speed & reliability now make the app easy to rely on, with regular updates a sign of overall commitment by the programmer. Interface still looks dated, but that's hardly a reason to look elsewhere. Major virtue: You control your data 100%. No cloud involvement unless you want it. I have it installed on 3 phones. a tablet, a laptop, & a desktop system and synch the password file myself--when & how I want to.

I keep my password files on Dropbox. Until the recent versions of this app, I had no issues accessing the files. Now, the app no longer can access Dropbox even though it can still access other Cloud storage like Drive and One Drive. I can use Google Files to access the Dropbox files, but if I attempt to open a file associated with Password Safe the Dropbox app crash. The Windows version of Password Safe, which I've used for literal decades, does not have this issue. 3 stars from 5 stars.

Android 11 completely broke this app. I can no longer open my files from the recent files list. I had to open a file browser and manually pick the file again, but now it seems that the file is corrupted. Something must have gone wrong when it wrote to the file for the first time after the upgrade. Opening the file and entering the password now results in a java.lang.ioexception, with an out of memory error. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app; that's what caused it to lose access.
