The screen you write on is the finished page.
As you type, your Markdown lands on a real Letter or A4 sheet with the formatting already applied, so you can see exactly where every page breaks before you export.
Save what you see as a PDF and you are done.

GoodMarkdowns is a Markdown editor, reader and PDF converter in one document app. You never press convert and then wait to find out how it turned out, because the page is already laid out while you write.

■ Live page preview
Your document sits on Letter or A4 paper at true size. Flip between a single page, a two-page spread and a grid view that shows several sheets at once, and pinch smoothly to zoom in on any detail. In a long document, find takes you straight to the line you are looking for. It doubles as a plain Markdown viewer: open a .md file someone sent you and read it properly laid out instead of as raw text.

■ Edit straight on the page
Tap a heading, a paragraph, a list item or a table cell in the preview and fix it right there. The Markdown source and the rendered page stay in sync both ways, so it makes no difference which side you edit. A block action bar turns moving and deleting into a couple of taps.

■ Eight design templates
Report, Academic, Minimal, Technical, Manuscript, Gazette, Business and Book. Each one sets typefaces, margins and heading hierarchy together, so switching template changes the whole character of the document. The block style inspector lets you override the font, alignment or spacing on a single block when one paragraph needs to stand apart.

■ Eleven documents to start from
Meeting notes, weekly report, resume, blog post, newsletter, study notes, academic paper, PRD, README, changelog and ADR. When the blank page is the hard part, start from one that already has a shape.

■ Paper sizes and margins your way
A3, A4, A5, A6, Letter and Legal, in portrait or landscape. Customize the header, the footer, page numbers and margins to match whatever format you have to hand in or send on.

■ Export to PDF, PNG and JPEG
Converting Markdown to PDF gives you real vector text you can select and search, not a flat picture, so the file is ready to print or attach. Need an image instead? Export PNG or JPEG at 1x, 2x or 3x. Long exports show progress and can be cancelled at any point, and nothing comes out with a watermark on it.

■ Built-in image editor
Touch up the pictures going into your document without leaving the app: twelve editing tools, ten annotation types, eight-handle resizing and rotation.

■ Document library and version history
GoodMarkdowns reads the folder structure already on your device, so your files stay organized where you put them. Create, rename, move and delete folders, and use the document outline to move around a long piece quickly. Your work is kept as versions, and undo and redo are always within reach. The .goodmarkdowns package format keeps a document and its images together in a single file.

■ Standard Markdown, fully supported
Headings, bold, italic, ordered lists, checklists, tables, quotes and code blocks, all in the syntax you already know. Paper and template settings live in the front matter at the top of the file, so they survive when you close the document and open it again. Open a .md or .txt file, edit it, save it: the round trip simply works.
